Which Instrument hits your ear....

Like fingernails down a blackboard?

It's been my experience that there are certain instruments that cause unrest in the ear of the listener. Not through any fault of the instrument, there is a quality in the tone that really rubs you the wrong way.

For me it's saxophone and bagpipes. Just can not abide them.

Harmonica - all harmonica players should be taken outside and shot, except Stevie Wonder, he's not bad.

+1 for bagpipes. Also accordion. I can take or leave sax, it depends on the tune.

Oh yeh...that bass guitar slapping thing as in Level 42 or these Funk bands usually do it too. Sets me teeth on edge.
Wont they let em play lead or summat?

And those Irish tin whistle things Arrrgghhh. Why don't they just tie a balloon to em & let em fly around the room ?

The definition of a gentleman is someone who knows how to play the bagpipes yet chooses not to. That'll do for me.
